Vancouver Island has one of the biggest all-natural ski bases in Canada.

Mount Washington is only a short drive (40 minutes) from the Oceanside Vacation Home at Qualicum Bay and has the region's largest skiing and snowboarding facility. Skiers and snowboarders currently have 1,200 acres of terrain to choose from (20% easy, 35% intermediate, 45% expert) serviced by 9 lifts including a high speed six pack and a high speed quad.

The Ozone Snow-Tubing Park offers a fun alternative to skiing or snowboarding and is also a great apres activity.Lift accessed, night lit, and Bonfires every evening. Located just past the Apline Lodge - look for the Log Cabin. Riders under 42" tall ride free with adult in their tube.

There are trails for cross-country skiers and plenty of tobogganing, snow and snowshoeing opportunities as well. Mount Washington's Cross Country terrain offers a 55 km (33 miles) trail system with track set and skating trails partially located within Strathcona Park with lift service for some trails. Snowshoe enthusiasts will enjoy the 20km (12 miles) of trails to enjoy, ranging from gentle slopes to rolling hills. There is also a 300m natural luge track located at the Raven Lodge.
